I am a Korean Christian, or Pentecostal to be precise, teaching and researching on global Christianity, Pentecostalism in it, and the unique role it plays to shape the future of global Christianity.
Julie (my wife and fellow pilgrim) and I worked in the Philippines as missionaries, yes, for almost three decades.
Then, we served the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, Oxford, the United Kingdom as the Executive Director (Wonsuk) and Research Tutor (Julie) (2006-2016).
Now, we are at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serving as Dean (Wonsuk) and Professor of Intercultural Studies (Julie) of the College of Theology & Ministry.
[Education]
I graduated from Full Gospel Bible College (now Hansei University) in Korea and received a Master of Divinity from the Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, Philippines. I finished my postgraduate study (Ph.D. in Old Testament) at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA.
[Family]
Julie is an amazing lady, more than half of me, from 1977! Yap, we dated 3.5 years. We celebrate two anniversaries: our first date (June 6) and wedding (Dec 13).
Woolim, our elder son, serves as a missionary to the Philippines with his wife, Shiloah. They have gifted us with special grandchildren: Ella and Jacob.
Boram is our second son, still single, teaching English in Korea.
Both sons are full-blooded Korean and Missionary Kids (MKs).
